A lost moon buggy once used by NASA for Apollo 15 has been found in a back garden more than 40 years later.
Even though it’s rusty, the shell of the Lunar Rover vehicle is still worth an astronomical £110,000 despite no tyres.
It was a prototype and never went into space but it was instrumental in developing the machines used on the moon in 1972.
It was spotted by a USAF historian who passed through the town of Blountsville in Alabama – but by the time NASA contacted the owner he had died and it had been passed to a scrap dealer who luckily realised what it was.
