‘Lulu’ author to talk to Bedfont Library group in South West London

The story of the first news organiser of the BBC in Manhattan and his disabled daughter will be
presented to members of the book club at Bedfont Library on Thursday January the 14th.

Ron Onions, former editor of LBC Radio co-wrote ‘Don’t Bring Lulu – her Family’s Tale of Trial and Triumph’ with his eldest daughter Sarah and wife Doris.
Onions who died in 2012 after Sarah Onions, also a journalist helped him to write the tale – Doris had kept all the memorabilia and letters.
Members of the book club will be treated to the story behind ‘Don’t Bring Lulu’ by Sarah in person.

Ron, as news organiser for the BBC from 1967, covered the Apollo 11 moonshot, the death of
Martin Luther King and the end of the Vietnam War.
