A grade II listed theatre in Teddington, Middlesex in the U.K has received just over eighty five thousand pounds from lottery funds.

The theatre at the Normansfield hospital was created by Doctor John Langdon-Down who discovered Downs Syndrome.

The money will be spent to protect the scenery and create a digital archive.

The Victorian doctor insisted all his nurses could also sing and dance.

It was opened to the public and now runs regular performances.
